WSome device only offer you composite or RGB but other devices like projectors etc may only except S-video as the best standard, this is a great way to get s-video quality where there initially isn't one. Please don't be fooled by SCART converters to S-video, unless the equipment is especially designed to carry the colour information of S-video, you will end up with a black and hwite picture from a passive conversion.
